Children’s privacy at a glance

GoodMinutes is made for kids, so we built it to know as little about them as possible. Here’s what that means, in plain English.

Your child’s information stays on the device

Your child’s name, birthday (month and year), progress, activity, drawings and voice are stored only on the iPhone or iPad they use. None of it is ever sent to us or to anyone else. We couldn’t look at it even if we wanted to.

We never ask children for personal information

A parent sets up GoodMinutes and creates the account with their own email address, behind a parent gate. Children are never asked for an email, a phone number, a photo or a location. There’s no chat and no way to share anything with other people.

Listening stays local

During read-aloud practice, the app listens so it can cheer your child on. Speech is recognized on the device itself. Audio never leaves it, and we don’t keep recordings. If a device can’t do this locally, read-aloud listening stays off.

No ads, no tracking, no AI services

There are no ads, no analytics tools, no tracking and no AI services in GoodMinutes. Nothing your child does is used to build a profile.

Screen Time stays with Apple

Locking and unlocking apps uses Apple’s Screen Time system on the device. We can’t see which apps you chose or how they’re used.

Grown-ups hold the keys

Purchases, settings, the parent account and links out of the app appear only during parent setup or behind the parent PIN.

What we do keep

Only the parent’s email address, with an anonymous account ID, whether the email is confirmed, and whether you’d like occasional emails about new Hensu kids apps (off unless you tick the box). Delete it anytime in the app: Parents → Delete account.
